Sorry, I hadn't seen it on FB and it didn't have a timer. They do this a lot during events. Even after playing for a year and sort of expecting a surprise, it's still frustrating.
*Bangs head on table while trying to decide to buy it or not* Argh!!!

Dreamn's picture

She's been in all of mine. May be you're going too fast looking for her? Hope you found her.

What about a 7th Aura dragon with a habitat that only holds 6? :-(
I'm already seeing I'm going to have to pick and chose among the prizes. So far I'm 8663 short in my main park for being able to get everything, excluding the 4th Omnitat. So I'll probably redo my list, get the omnitat anyway, and wait on a dragon or two. Things have just been too crazy here to do an event but I'm trying. Moms been having some pretty bad days and I'm fighting a nasty sinus infection. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.

I emptied an omnitat full of rainbows. Now I can at least get the aura dragons so my collection of those will remain complete. Fortunately I had 2 large rainbow habitats in storage and didn't have to hibernate any rainbows. Yay for that new island! It's already full. Amazing how we can do that so quickly yet still wish we had another island, lol.

Good chilly morning to you all! I hope everyone is enjoying the event - I did break down and buy Honeyglow, I didn't want to be caught off guard like I was with Snowpoc. I have managed to buy the Ambrosia dragon, and now will work my way through them; I do hope they have a 'triple roses' weekend coming up, it seems such a waste to turn in all the roses for treats when there are so many roses that could be turned into dragons!!

SI - glad the breeding helped; congrats! How's your snow situation up there? Did everyone get haircuts?

Did you guys watch the Super Bowl?? Holy cow what a finish!!!!!

Well my guineas have been laying eggs like crazy; I've had some scrambled, given away a dozen, and have just finished boiling some to make egg salad sandwiches for lunch. They are "richer" tasting than chicken eggs but other than that just the same; although I will say they are tough to crack - all the calcium.

Well off with me for awhile, you all take care and I'll chat at you later!

I fell asleep during the SB and missed Ryan's fumble and the subsequent Pats TD, but when I woke up, I had a strong feeling that the Pats would somehow find a way to win. Kyle Shanahan lost it for them calling for a pass which they got sacked and then getting that penalty...they were in FG range up until then...a FG would have won them the game. I wonder now if Shanahan is gonna get the head co-ach job at SF...stupid call, and he "owned up " to it. Don't get me wrong, I like both Shanahans...I think the Atlanta head co-ach should have overridden that call for a pass.

Snow was melting then yesterday great big flakes for 3 hours. Very heavy and wet but it's warming up again. I hope to see grass soon. Both boys got their haircut, Cooper yesterday and Sammy today and they look so handsome! I'm the only holdout but will try to get my cut and color next week. You are so lucky to have fresh eggs!

I bought honey glow as well. I also bought the ped because I can't usually breed the limited in time but this one I bred in the coop too!

The SB was quite a game. I really wanted Atlanta to win but momentum was lost after the fumble plus the co-ach error as GPK pointed out. Exciting to the end though!

Dragon Grower's picture

Well! With the 'free' dragon today, did everyone get all of them? I managed to 'spend wisely' this time and did get all of them. I was actually able to breed Stoneheart; I was pretty surprised at that! All I have to get over the next few days are some peds and the Stoneheart path. I hope everyone had a great event!

SI - glad to hear you have grass again! We did get about 6" of snow on Tues/Wed but then it was over 50 on Friday and it's all gone - very squishy outside right now. Our temps are supposed to be really nice over the next week - we even have a night next week when the low is supposed to be in the 50's - unusual for this time of year here. The guinea (needless to say) are pleased with the change in weather!

So Many Dragons! I was successfully able to breed two Daydreams first time out to fill my Dream habitats, and just moved some dragons out of an Omnitat to make room for the new event dragons - I really didn't want to move stuff to upgrade an Aura habitat. I'm still trying to decide if I truly wanted more Apoc habs for my newest island. It looks rather bleak with only four habs on it and some statues...I had to move the anniversary statues from my ped island because it is overflowing! All wonderful things, I might add.

Not much else going on around here - I've been re-reading all the Harry Potter books the last week or so; I'm starting on "Half-blood Prince" tonight and should have the series completed by Wednesday or so. Such great books! THEN I really should get back to doing things around the house I've been neglecting. :)

Off with me - wanted to say 'hey' to everyone. I hope all is well with you guys!

Congrats to being back in the DVFD! I didn't get all the new dragons but I did keep my Aura set complete. Im trying not to spend real $ so the dragons get to wait. Besides, as fast as they are putting out new dragons, I don't see my dragonarium shooting flames any time soon. It just means I get to enjoy the chase for a bit. (a loooong bit, lol) But hey, bring on the decor! I'm all for shiney sparkly new pretties. I can't help myself. (Blushes) The Bewitching Heart's a must have. DRM - CONGRATS!!!! I hear you about the decorations! The revolving hearts are a bit bigger than I thought they would be but managed to squeeze them in on my plant island. So I must ask....what exactly does one do with the blocks? I bought the heart block and have it sitting by itself on an island...does one make walls with them? I'll have to visit your park to see what you have come up with!

It was a long day at the library (board meeting tonight) and I'm happy to be sitting here going through dragons (in three games!!!) with a glass of wine at my elbow and my beasties all around. Hubby was in bed when I got home (shocking!) but he did bring home red and white carnations (my fave) for Valentines Day...I hope you all had a great one.

Not much going on around here - starting on HP Deathly Hallows tonight when I done catching up on games; I had forgotten how much was in the books! I'm having a good time re-reading them and will feel the same sense of loss as I did the first time I finished the books. Like saying goodbye to really good friends. I think next on my 're-reading' list will be The Lord of the Rings set - starting with (of course) The Hobbit. I don't know why it was called a "trilogy" since The Hobbit sets the stage for the remaining three books. Oh well, my problem, not yours.

I trust everyone enjoyed the event? I hope you all got what you wanted/needed.

Chat at you soon!

The blocks can be used as stand alone decor or you can make creative designs using a variety of colored blocks or you can indeed use them as walls. In one of my parks I did make a couple of walls and added the new heart pathway to complete the look. I'm looking forward to seeing how you use them. :-)

Been busy, but doing well. Also, thanks to all you who gifted me during the event, helped me nab the Stoneheart dragon. Don't have enough roses to buy the last bit of decor, but I can grab it during BEB. Getting ready to buy what will be my water Island as soon as I reach Level 30, and been trying to get a ragnarok dragon to complement the Snowpocalypse I finally built a habitat for. On the bright side, got a second snowflake in the incubator, so I can fill up that bit of my winter island.

I've been busy and haven't had time to post. I certainly take time to play, though. Waiting for bfs to put a new one out for us. I still need eight peds but have to wait for another BEB.

We're having rain today and it's been 40's. I'm hoping for more cold so the snow stays in the mountains and we don't have flooding. I did notice some green from the daffodils poking out today so spring is coming!

Tuffy and I went to see "Hidden Figures" yesterday. What a terrific movie, we highly recommend it!

DG reading Harry Potter again seems like a great idea. I so enjoyed them the first time; I may have to follow your lead.

Logan is doing very well. He's at the stage where he wants someone to sleep over or go to a friends for a sleepover. i was hoping I could be his best friend a little longer, sigh!
He was out of school Friday and we went to Lego Batman movie. It was actually quite cute.

Off to finish dinner. The roasted chicken smells almost done.

Good luck with dragons!

Greetings all, what a crazy and busy new year it's been already. Hope you are all well and the event was good to you all! I managed to at least keep up and get all the event dragons so am once again in DVFD. It's been a little rough this year but some good things have happened too, My husbands band went to Memphis for a week and performed in the International Blues Challenge and placed in the semi-finals. I think they were as shocked as anyone. And they just played the opening night of the Blue's competition in southern Ohio that they won last year which was fun. While we were there we went to a pizza place where there was a younger guy playing acoustic guitar and he was awesome. You should check him out GPK his name is Atom Lax. I bought his CD right then. He writes his own music too; what a talent! One of the not so good things is our Yorkie-Poo is having surgery to have his gall bladder removed. That was a tough decision because he's older and the surgery is very expensive but we just couldn't put him down. We've had enough emotional pain so I think the cost of that outweighed the cost of the surgery and that fact that otherwise they said he's in great health. DG how are things on the homestead? I've missed our emails. SI hope everything's well with you, Tuffy, Logan and the 'boys'. DRM I've missed your stories, I'll have to catch up and see if I've missed any. Saara, can't log in anymore to chat so please write me here if you need something in co-op okay?

Kaleido15's picture

Hi everyone. Just cking in to see some friendly chatter. Been so busy w work and seem to be on the road every weekend seeing one or the other of the kids. My grandmother passed away 2 weeks ago. She was 96 so had a very good life with so many grandkids and greats that I can't remember the numbers but over 25. She was my last living grandparent but I guess I'm lucky having them this long. My daughter-in-law lost her grandmother last week as well and she too was in her 90's. Shows you the difference in the ages of having children. She's only 33 with a 92 year old grandmother. Me as 58 losing mine which was my 33 year old sons great grand. So sad but certainly remembered and such a great legacy.

I Did good in the roses but really wanted one more omnitat and just couldn't get there. I had already spent some money to finish the dragons so no more $$. But I'm happy.
Now I'm just missing a lot that I can't get outside the coop. A few galaxy and the dawn and dusks and portent. Plus a lot more but getting there. I got Midnight for a free dragon in the milestones which was a pleasant surprise. That one would have been really difficult for me.

Grandpa Kenny's picture

So glad to hear from you! "Attaboys" to your hubby's band. Not much in my 'Blues' repetertoire except maybe "Sweet Home Chicago". Googled Atom Lax...he IS good. Was he barefoot when you saw him?

So compassionate & caring of you to do that for your Yorkie-Poo. Sometimes I wish I had a dog...

Flwrpot's picture

GPK Thank you for the warm welcome back! I had to look up Sweet Home Chicago because I didn't recognize it by name but once I heard it I knew it immediately. It's a great song-do you play it?! What are you working on right now music wise? I had to go back and look at the video I took on my phone to see if Atom was barefoot and lo and behold I saw toes sticking out, lol, but I think he had on flip flops. Thank you too for your kind words regarding our Yorkie Poo; he's awaiting surgery now. I can see why you say 'sometimes' you'd like a dog. They are great companions, truly, but certainly an investment in time and money too. Too bad they don't have something equivalent to being a pet grandparent, lol, that way you could love it and send it home!
KL I'm so sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. Mine died recently too and she was in her ninety's as well. That's a pretty nice long life! Congrats on your Midnight, it's one of my favorites.

Grandpa Kenny's picture

Sweet Home Chicago is on one of my Clapton albums so I learned it the same time as I was learning Layla. Now working on, what else, Stairway To Heaven! When my son was learning it, years ago, his mother & I got sick of [hearing] it :-). Every kid back then was trying to play it...ask your hubby... My teacher gave me the original LZ arrangement to work on and it isn't so easy...couple of different/odd bar chords that my old fingers are having a time with... I found an easier chord version on my Ultimate Guitar app (don't know what I would do without that app) that's almost as pretty as the original so I'm working on both. Also working on some James Taylor stuff...Fire And Rain, How Sweet It Is...

Yes, dogs are an investment of time and money for sure. I do a lot of things on the spur of the moment which, if I had a dog, I would have to make arrangements for...my dog would deserve better...for now, my guitar is my dog :-)

Grand parents are great! Because I lived with my paternal grand parents as a teenager, I think that's why I ended up with my really 'old school' values...when he was passing, the Navy gave me emergency leave to go see my Grandpa one last time. They usually only grant emergency leave for 'immediate family'.

I think I got the Conifer on the first try with Evergreen & Lichen, both level 20s in the Cave...took a SWAG (Scientific Wild A$$ Guess)...an Evergreen is a tree, sorta like a Conifer. The Lichen was the SWAG part. Anyway. I got 14:24 breeding time. :-)

Dragon Grower's picture

Oh GPK - I have missed your wit! SWAG - LOL!!! I hope things are well for you out there - have you been having the same 'spring' weather we've had here in NE? It has been beyond 'fine' weather here the last week or so - short-lived, I'm sad to say - snow in the forecast for later this week.

FP - THERE you are! I just sent you an e-mail last night! Short, but there nonetheless. :). Sorry to hear about your Yorkie-poo - I'm trusting all is well? What would we do without our animals??? I sit here looking at my SIX animals (oh, plus 32 guineas!) - and they are just like kids. I fuss at them in the morning when they 'argue' at breakfast time; constant running in and out; always wanting snacks instead of food....ah yes, the joys of animals! I would miss them terribly if they weren't here though. And yes, animal grandparents would be lovely! Fighting for bed space, can't walk without having to move one - love them and give them back! :). And how awesome is that for hubby and the band??? Congrats to both of you - I bet they sound great.

Kaleido - welcome back! It is great to see both you and SI back up here again. My condolences on your Grandma - they are truely special; I'm glad you had her for a good long time. And congrats on your Midnight - they are pretty dragons! Hey, let me know if you want me to put up Portent for you....I am trying for the three new ones though; be patient with me!

SI - how old is Logan now? Probably at that age of discovering 'independence'; where it's not 'cool' to hang with the parents or grandparents. I lived with my Grandma for awhile growing up - so many great memories. Don't take it personally!

Well, thanks to bj I have the Permafrost already. I didn't even realize there were three new dragons out until after I'd already set my breeding areas for earth/cold. A couple will be done soon so I'll try for the others next. Loving the new dragons, though. I like a game that keeps growing and expanding.

Not much here going on - the library was full today; prepping for our "Read Across America" party (Dr. Seuss) on 3 March; have to go the the Village Council next month to try and squeeze money for a community project (part of Summer Reading Program) - you know, the same ol' same ol. :)

Well off with me for awhile - back to 3 dragon games! Take care all - glad to see everyone is doing great! Talk to you soon...

I'm with DG on your dog, Kudos to you! Our dogs are family and Tuffy and I have never been without one. You can do no wrong in a dog's eyes.

KL I'm sorry about your grandma. We only got to see our grandparents once a year as they lived in Nebraska but I still remember sitting on the porch learning card tricks from my grandma. Memories are a blessing.

DG Logan is only 10 so I still have a lot of time to be his buddy. He was 2 1/2 when Brenda died so he carried me through rough times. I think I was just venting, he has to grow up and I'm just hoping we'll always be close.

GPK Tuffy's grandparents took his mom and all four kids into their home when he was small. They grew up on that little acreage in a small house with lots of love. He had just gotten to Nam when his grandpa passed so Uncle Sam sent him right back home for the funeral.

Well, I hear Tuff and my boys getting up so I must feed the livestock..........and Tuffy!

It's been 'spring like' here most of the winter temps in the 40-50 & sometimes 60s...sure, a couple times it got real cold...teens & zero, but the weather here is the best! It will get up to 95 in the middle of July for a week or two but then, high 80s.

You mean you didn't SWAG your equipment casulties in the AF? After a while, whenever the sonar went down, we could sorta tell, by the symptoms, what the problem was so we simply changed out the suspected component and fired it up again...most of the time it worked and we were back 'on-line' in minutes. If our SWAG didn't fix it then we used our normal trouble shooting methods. Like radar, nav, weaps & comm equipment, sonar was considered 'critical' so if it went down, it had to be reported to the squadron right away. If we couldn't get it back up in a certain amount of time they would send in another ship & pull us off station...and nobody wanted that...plus, it made the Captain look bad and as you know, in the military, "$#!+ runs downhill"...that's how I learned about SWAGing and later, as a civilian, when I was fixing computers, I did the same thing!

I believe mine was a fluke that has since been corrected. I've only gotten one ped so far. One after the other for all three just seemed wrong, not that I'm complaining ;))

Well, I have spent most of the day at the hospital with hubby. Took him to the ER with chest pains this morning after he shoveled a bit of snow. He is FINE; they don't think it's his heart but are keeping him overnight for observation; with the blood clot he had a year ago, it is alway better to be safe than sorry. They did give him three nitro pi-lls and a shot of morphine shortly after arrival. No idea what it is; hopefully the tests they ran today and tonight will paint a better picture tomorrow. I spoke with him around 9 or so tonight, the Doc says unless something significant happens overnight, he should be able to come home tomorrow. I've already told the library board president I won't be in tomorrow (I'm in a one-deep position at the library - no 'back-up' ) but we're such a small town that if she (board pres) wanted to open the library she could do it.

So, here at a very quiet house going through games. I am pleased to announce I have all the new dragons and all the peds - all through breeding! I think I'm missing a twin Coldforge ped but will continue to try for that. So back up and burning yet again!

GPK - if we used SWAG I sure don't remember. But I do miss using a lot of the acronyms we used to have or some sayings. Hey, have you seen the movies "Hacksaw Ridge" and "USS Indianapolis"? Both very good, I would definitely recommend. I personally like having new dragons all the time; the good folks at BFS give us the 'hard' work of trying to figure out where to put everything. Time for another new island! :). We got about 6" of snow over a thin layer of ice on Thursday night/Friday. The guineas are NOT happy about being penned up again after a gorgeous week in the 60's and 70's. But supposed to be back up in the 'normal' range (40's or so) starting Monday so that will be good for all concerned. I need to scoop snow from around their doors tomorrow so they can get out. Hubby says he'll do it - I say "NOT!!"

SI - sounds like you had the best luck with the three new dragons! Part of me says it great to get them quickly, but then the other part of me says it goes too quick THEN what to do until the next event? (Which should be a mini-event for St. Patrick's day, I'm guessing).

Wow - I can hear every little sound in this house....hubby has a CPAP machine that usually drowns out all noises. It's a bit weird...wonder how I'll sleep without Darth Vader next to me? :)

Well, it's been a long, emotional day so I'm tucking in 'early'. You all take care...DRM, did you get the dragons? Did I miss the post?

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your hubby today.

I came up to the cabin with Jeff and Logan. Sitting here watching it snow! It's been quite cold this week so the snow that was here is hard as a rock. Logan was playing yesterday, slipped off a big pile of snow left by the plow. It was like face planting on concrete! Has a fat lip and scrapes around his nose and mouth. He's still sleeping but I'll bet he's sore today.

Anyone watching the Oscars tonight? We did go see "Lion" this week. It's an excellent movie but it doesn't sound as if much will get past "LaLa Land".

Blessings to all!

So sorry to hear about 'Darth'...I sent you an email...

Haven't seen either of those movies, I do know the stories behind each...I'll keep on eye out for them...

I got the first two real quick, but I still haven't got the Coldforge...I think I prefer getting new Dragons right off the bat...it's less stressful for me that way, especially when there's a time limit on them.

DRM - thanks for checking that post, and thank you all for your warm thoughts. Hubby and I got home this afternoon; they ran a boat-load of tests and thankfully all came back 'negative' in a 'positive' way. He has a follow up with his Doc tomorrow then to a cardiologist this week. I've been home with him this afternoon but I'm sure he'll go to work tomorrow.

SI - the snow sounds beautiful! Ours is melting now (I finished shoveling this afternoon while hubby was asleep) and the guineas were happy to be out for a few hours in the sunshine this afternoon. I just can't believe all the snow the northern states have received this year! Beautiful to look at as long as I don't lose my creature comforts and don't have to drive in it! :) We did not watch the Oscars; I seem to have lost interest in them over the years - probably because I don't recognize a lot of the actors (or perhaps that is because I don't go see as many movies as I used to). Speaking of which - it is a shame about Bill Paxton, isn't it? Fill me in - I've hear the title "LaLa Land" but don't know anything about it.

GPK - I can see your point on getting the new dragons quickly. Do you by any chance, play Dragonvale World? I'm having a heck of a time getting the new ones in that game. Those are usually limited, too. I haven't checked e-mail today but will look for yours tonight.

Not much else going on around here. I'm already in bed next to Darth and the house sounds 'normal' again. :) Off to collect DC and maybe read until I get tired enough to sleep. You all take care and thanks again for all the warm thoughts.

DG, glad to hear the hubby is home and feeling better. He best take it easy on that snow a while.
Not much happening here in my vale. Dragons having been fat and happy but they may have to diet a bit while I save for the next island that for me is 4B. Seems it takes forever for me to get those billions. I have permafrost but not the others yet. Was working on bizurian w my grandsons dragon for a month it seems. Finally got it about the time nogard put his up in the coop. Working on daydream now as I've tried for a month now for that one w no luck.

I'm tired. Been working so much and sitting at my desk so long that my body is going to mush while my brain feels fried. Didn't get home tonight till 7 after being up at 530. Makes for a long day. have a good week and weekend.

KL

hello everyone!

I'm in need of new friends to help me breed different dragons with in the cooperative breeding cave, all my friends in there just have standard dragons which I've already achieved.

I currently have 289 out of 343 dragons.

Wanting to complete my monolith and crystalline collection which I need help from the cooperative breeding cave.

I'm happy to help with new friends needs too!

I'm with you on getting the new dragons ASAP. For some reason I find it stressful too until I get them.

DG La La Land is a musical but it brings back memories and music of days gone by. Tuff and I both enjoyed it but I didn't think it was best picture worthy. I haven seen Moonlight yet so I guess I'll have to check it out too. I was shocked when I heard about Bill Paxton too; what a shame.
Hope all goes well with hubby when you see cardiologist.

Rohlmberg. There was a couple hours I got the connection error too. Thankfully it worked its way out!

KL you take care of yourself! I hope you get to rest on weekends. Who am I kidding! ? When I was working at least one day of the weekend was to catch up at home! I had to use my wish for the island that was 10 or 12 B. It takes a lot of time to save Billions!

I just hatched the Permafrost dragon in my main iPad park. That gives me all of the newest trio. I love the wings on the permafrost dragon! I have an oKENite in the nest for the pedestal. I'm trying for the Aquamarine and Clover peds. I've made it to level 79 (79!!) and saving up for the 14th island.
Instead of grouping all the egg pedestals together I place them next to the habitat containing the same dragon. I have collected the gemstone decorations and placed them in order they are released. When I get the gemstone pedestal I put it next to the decoration. It's slowly coming together. :-)

Dragon Grower's picture

Good day, good day! SI - thanks for the lo-down on LaLaLand - I haven't seen it (and probably won't - we don't go to movies much) but I never even heard of Moonlight.

Well, I was at the hospital with hubby again on Tuesday for chest pains again. He stayed at home on Monday after last weekend's episode, then back to work on that Tuesday. They had him in for all sorts of tests Tuesday morning (he had driven himself to the hospital from work) and they found NOTHING wrong with his heart. That is the good thing. But what they have determined it is, is called an esophageal spasm, which can mimic some symptoms of a heart attack. So, good that it's not his heart but now we still have to find out how to stop the spasms. He has really bad acid reflux and sometimes he coughs so hard he passes out and possibly that is what is causing the spasms. His PCM gets back on Monday and hopefully he can get a quick appointment and start down the road of figuring out this particular problem. Personally, I don't think he has acid reflux like they say...he didn't start coughing like that until he came back from Iraq in 2005. BUT he has been to a pulmonologist and they can't find anything wrong with his lungs either. Well, I'm not a doctor so he's in the hands that he's in.

DRM - congrats on your set completion! I'm just trying for a twin Portent and twin Clover right now. And of course working on the dragons in DVW!

Not much else is going on here. We had our National Read Across America aka Dr. Seuss party last night at the library. Unfortunately, we only had about 10 children show up. Unbeknownst to me, there were fish fries all around us for the first Friday after the start of Lent. Silly Shelley.... Oh well, I do think the kids that were there had a good time....though today my back and knees are killing me from doing the Chicken Dance and the Cha Cha with the the kids! All in good fun.

Well, back to dragons and butterflies with me. You all take care and I'll chat at you later!

Oh my all, It's been worse than having a new born with our 7 lb Yorkie Poo's recovery from his surgery. We've been on 24/7 high alert because he's not allowed to run, jump or climb stairs which means someone (namely me) has had to be beside him every minute of the day. Then at night I built a wall out of pillows on our sectional, stuck him in there and I crashed next to him. Add five different meds given six times a day, me with tendinitis and it's been something! He'll get his staples out Wednesday so hopefully things will go back to normal!

Deeg your poor husband! I'm so sorry. How are you both holding up? I can't imagine coughing until you pass out and dealing with that since 2005! Are there other guys/friends of your hubby's who were in Iraq who have the same condition? Maybe they would be a good resource to tap into? He is in our thoughts and prayers. I sure hope you can get a definitive answer soon. ((Hugs)). Sorry your library party didn't have the turn out you hoped for but it sounds like the 10 that were there had a really great time. And isn't it fun getting old, lol, all the new aches and pains!

GPK I had to laugh at your Stairway to Heaven memories with your son! I'm sure my parents did the same thing when my brothers were learning to play it, lol. But you can't play guitar without knowing how to play at least the intro to Stairway to Heaven, right?! Having said that I'm not even sure my husband has learned it. He's 8 years younger than I am and was into the 80's hair bands in his youth. I Love James Taylor! It sounds like you're learning a good mix of eclectic songs. That will be useful if you ever decide to play out one day. :-)

SI couldn't agree more, you can do no wrong in a dogs eyes! We too, haven't ever been without dogs and I can't imagine we ever will be given the choice.

KL I hope things slow down for you at your job soon and you're able to get much deserved rest!

DRM how are you and your mom doing? Question for you. In DV I'm unable to gift you back because it always shows the option unhighlighted. I just figured out I can go to my friends list to gift you from there but is that how it will always be? Wondering why I can't gift you back via gifts tab.

Dreamn's picture

Mom and I are hanging in there, doing our best to get along. Neither one of us understands the other so it's become a guessing game as to what she needs. Somehow we still manage to make things work out. Thank you for asking.

Please clear my name from the "gift back" list. It should reset the next time I send gems. If not, it's probably due to the # of parks I have and it's confused as to which one to send gifts. I have 3 on the iPad and 3 on Android. (I may have a dragon problem!? )

DRM that has to be frustrating and tough to navigate day after day. I don't have experience personally with such a sensitive area but have you thought of bringing in a third party to help you try to understand each other better? A Pastor or therapist? Thank you for the suggestion, you weren't showing under my gifts tab so I'll see what happens the next time you're on there. Hopefully that will clear it up! Ohhhhhh my ,,,DRM 6 DragonVale's?!?! Yep, me thinks you may have a slight dragon addiction! ;-)

GPK Thank you I know he gives back as much to me as I give to him. :-). Wow! Your son is super talented! I wonder if your love of music is what inspired him to follow that path! It is a shame you live so far from him but maybe online (Skype) lessons?! My son played drums for awhile but he never got the music bug the way my husband did, although he can carry a tune and with a little training could be a good singer like his dad.

Grandpa Kenny's picture

I think he did indeed inherit his musical talents and his (near) perfect pitch from me. He started out loving KISS as a kid. We did everything to nurture and support his interest in music...guitars, amps, drums, keyboards, you name it, we got it for him. He didn't want professional lessons though...he just 'picked up' everything on his own and very quickly too. In the HS band, he played triple drums, tuba, French horn, trombone & coronet...you never knew what he would be playing from week to week.

You've no doubt heard of Meryle Streep. She grew up in NJ. As a senior in HS, she won the annual, state wide, HS talent award. My son Brian won that same award when HE was a senior in HS. (I raised my family in NJ. I only moved back out to rural Colorado 22 years ago)

When it came time for college, he 'aced' his auditions, but he couldn't read music so none of the 'big time' schools like Rutgers or Princeton would accept him as a music major. Fortunately, Trenton State took a chance on him. They told him that by the end of his sophomore year he not only had to be able to read music but he had to learn Italian, Spanish & German (the languages of opera) if he wanted to stay in the music program...he did and graduated with honors. He got his masters from the New England Conservatory.

He often performs in operas in Boston. He's very talented, just not quite talented enough to be making the 'big $$$'.

Can you tell I'm very proud of him? :-)

One of my regrets, as I grow older, is that I myself, did not pursue my interest in music...at least I'm doing it now and it's a blast!

Wow! Wow! Wow! That's amazing, impressive and awe inspiring for your son to have accomplished all that he did in addition to three languages- that is passion with purpose!

I'm so glad you're pursuing your love of music now and that you love it! A few years ago I started to pursue my love for photography but found that going to school for it took the passion away. I was so blown away and didn't expect that to happen. I'm still learning things online through photography blogs etc though so it's all good :-)

Well, I was just lucky!!! Saw it was a new one, bred my Elder Earth/Elder Dark and BOOM - there it was! Of course, now it will take me ages to get a ped! :). Love your quote, btw. :)

It seems to me you have a lot of talent there GPK. Your son sounds amazing; I love music (most types) and I putz on the piano, and sing a bit, but nothing like that. I had hoped my youngest son would follow music, but alas, laziness got the better of him. He played sax, clarinet and flute, and could read music so easily it made me envious! But he has chosen a different path for his life and I'm OK with that too - to each their own...perhaps his talents will come forth in other ways.

DRM - my heart goes out to you, woman. Big hugs to you.

SI - congrats on Subterranean! Interesting looking dragon, don't you think? Kind of reminds me between a crab and a grub...just a thought.

My dishwasher went kaput yesterday - it was raining in my basement if that tells you what kind of a day I had. Other than THAT, nothing much major going on here. Oh, I am missing another guinea - one of the white ones didn't show up for roll call tonight. Hopefully it will be back with the flock tomorrow a.m. I'll keep you posted.

OK, I've missed something...Mythical Hall? Guess I need to push an update or something.

GPK - Missing guinea found his/her way home the next morning. For some reason some of them can be pretty darn stubborn! (I wonder where they get THAT!!). It was a relatively quiet day today. I took apart my dryer to find a rattling noise (found it) and got it back together again (and yes, it works!). Other than that, just cleaning and laundry, etc.

DRM - question for you. My niece has started playing DV on her Kindle Fire. They're having a heck of a time connecting it to FB so that she and I can be 'friends' in the Vale. So I tried downloading DV on my Kindle FIre (through Google Play and Amazon) and it says my device doesn't support the game. (I was only downloading it so I could see what problems they were having trying to connect FB to the park). So why do you suppose I couldn't download it to my Kindle? And can you recommend anything to help with the FB problems she's having? Much thanks!

So - I must go see what this Mythical Hall is......

Anyone else having problems expanding the Mythical Hall? I decided to buy one of the dragons which grew the Hall to the size of a large habitat.
