Question:
***How to back up your game so you don't lose it!***
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
This really isn't a question, it's more of a tutorial. However, if you follow this then you decrease the risk of losing your park in the event of it suddenly disappearing.
This is for Game Center users, Facebook users, and local park players, especially the local park players.
Open your game. Go to Options. In the bottom right corner there is a button that says "Email Support", tap it. An email window will open up addressed to Backflip Studios. In this email is your park ID which Backflip uses to restore your park in case something happens. Instead of sending this email to Backflip, change the "To:" box to your own personal email. This will send the email to yourself. Now if your park suddenly disappears and you can't access your park ID to send to Backflip, you will already have it in your email :) It is also a good idea to periodically send this email to yourself so that you always have it :)
NOTE: For some players the park ID isn't there, if that's the case but you are logged in through Game Center or Facebook then you don't need to worry as much.
Question:
What dose BeB mean?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
BeB stands for Bring 'em Back, a yearly event that Backflip Studios (also commonly referred to as "BF" and "BFS") hosts for the Dragonvale community. During this event, every dragon ever released during the game becomes available to breed or buy. Dragons such as Paper and Cotton that were only released once can be bred during this time. BeB usually begins mid December and ends mid January but the dates aren't set in stone. This event is BFS's Christmas gift to the community, and each year on December 23rd or 24th, a Gift Dragon is given to each player for free.
Question:
How do I edit my signature?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
If you look at the top right corner of this webpage you will see a hyperlink that says "My Account". If you click this then you will be taken to a page that displays your profile picture if you have one and how long you have been a member. There is a little tab named "Edit", click this. Here is where you can edit your username, password, signature, and profile picture. If you want to have a fancy signature like mine then you can click the hyperlink that says "More information about text formats" and it will guide you through the different styles you can apply to your signature. Once you add the changes you want then you scroll to the bottom and click save. The new signature will be applied to every post you've ever made on this site.
Question:
What is the email for Backflip Studios?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Here is the email for Backflip: support@backflipstudios.com
You can email them regarding bugs or issues in the game. A number of us have kindly sent emails requesting new islands and habitats. All that we ask is if you email Backflip, please be polite and respectful, they are the makers of this wonderful game after all.
Question:
How do you add friends in the game?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
For Game Center players you need to friend the player through Game Center. To do this open the Game Center app and go to the friends tab. At the top right corner will be a + sign, tap it. Here you can enter the nickname of the person you want to add and even send a little message like "I would like to be a Dragonvale friend!". After they accept you may need to restart your Dragonvale game or even your device for them to appear on your friends list.
For Facebook users you need to friend the person through Facebook itself. Simply search their name or email on Facebook and send them a friend request saying you want to be a Dragonvale friend.
To view your friends in the game tap the social tab. The first page that appears is your gifts page where you can see gifts people have sent and accept them and give a gift back. The middle tab displays all of your friends who play Dragonvale through the Game Center or Facebook. Here you can visit their parks and collect party hats for dragoncash.
Question:
What is a limited dragon?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Limited dragons are dragons that are only available in the game for a set amount of time. Some dragons appear for holidays, like Reindeer, Ghost, and Firework, others for Backflip events like the Paper, Cotton, and Century dragons, and others appear with cosmic events, like Blue Moon, Equinox, and Solstice. Among the limited dragons there are those who appear rarer than others, these dragons either won't be back for a long time or the event that they appear during doesn't happen often.
A tip for limited dragons, if you have two of the same dragon and breed them together then you have a chance of getting that dragon again regardless if it is available at this time. We call getting a pair of limited dragons "doubles", you want to get doubles of everything limited so if you ever want more of that dragon then you have the option to get another one.

Question:
How do you keep track of your dragon count?
Answer:
There is a Dragonvale wiki that has an up to date dragon counter that counts the total number of dragons in the game. By using the "My Dragons" tab on this website you can keep track of how many dragons you own and how many you are missing. To get the fraction simply take the total number of dragons and subtract the number you are missing to get how many you have. Then take that number and put it over the total number of dragons, and voila! Dragon count :)
Question:
I bred a dragon with X hours, what is it?
Answer:
Ok guys, here it is. The current list of all breeding times both normal and upgraded and which dragon has what breeding time. Have fun reading this one!

Question:
What's the best way to obtain Kairos fragments?
Answer:
There are two methods on obtaining Kiaros fragments, quests and races. The quests are simply submit a dragon, hope for a piece, and wait out the time. To get a better chance at a fragment, you need to select a dragon that's appropriate for that quest. When you open the window that asks what dragon you wish to send, there will be two small circles on either corner with elements in them. These elements represent the type of dragon that would be most suited for the quest. If they happen to be Air and Fire then you can choose the Smoke, Blazing, or a limited dragon like Firework. However these quests can take up to a day and you never know what you get until they are done.
Racing is the fastest way to get Kairos. For each race, if you have a dragon you want to use, then name that dragon after the race or give it a number name so it's easier to find each time you race. For example, name a Tree dragon Ulster for the race Ulster Meadows. You can race as many times as you want, so long as you have the 50,000 dragon cash to enter. You can earn money, food, exp and Kairos fragments from racing. This is by far the fastest way, but it is way more expensive. If you have tons of gold laying around, give it a shot :D
Here are the race names and dragons that work best for those races:
Blast Furnace = Forge Dragon, Brass Dragon, Gold Dragon
Cherry Road = Sakura Dragon, Paper Dragon
Dramoria = Steel Dragon, Mine Dragon, Silver Dragon
Electric Skies = Sonic Dragon, Thunder Dragon
Marshlands = Seaweed Dragon, Swamp Dragon
Rime or Reason = Snow Dragon, Blizzard Dragon
Shimmering Faultline = Quake Dragon, Crystal Dragon
Ulster Meadows = Tree Dragon, Moss Dragon, Clover Dragon, Forest Dragon
Year of the Dragon = Panlong Dragon, Firework Dragon, Leap Year Dragon
Also note that if you race with an epic dragon then you will only race with other epic dragons, so if you don't have a dragon for Cherry Road then try using your favorite epic dragon.
There is also a head start at the very beginning of the races, it's kinda like in the Mario Kart games where you get a boost if you press "A" at a certain time. Right as the race starts, you can tap your screen while your dragon's line is still on the starting line. This gives you a boost above the other dragons, and will almost always guarantee your win if you hit all the other lines in the race.
Question:
What's the Dragonarium?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
The Dragonarium is an in game catalog of all the dragons and eggs your have acquired in your park. It helps keep track of everything you have achieved. The animation for the Dragonarium will change based on how many dragons you have, at 100% completion the Fire dragon on top of the building will breath fire and sparks will emit from the building below.
Question:
What are Twin Dragons?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Twin Dragons are dragons that you obtain by breeding your dragon with a friend's dragon. When you receive a twin you will get a notification telling you so. Both you and the friend you bred with will receive this twin. If you get a notification saying a friend bred with your dragon and obtained a twin then check your gift box in your social tab to claim your twin dragon.
Twins can be identified by having a blue background and a gold banner on their dragon page. For normal dragons they have a blue orb containing a gold version their first element above their heads from level 1 to 19. At level 20 the orb becomes a blue star like the epic dragons' stars. For epic dragons they have a blue star from levels 1 to 15. If you have a hatched twin dragon somewhere in your park then your Dragonarium will have a blue background and gold boarder for that dragon's icon.
Twin eggs can be identified by having a blue aura around them. Your Dragonarium also tracks these.
Question:
How does Galaxy Dragon and Co-op breeding work?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Ok, I will try to break this down as best I can, I know there is still a lot of confusion surrounding the co-op breeding.
Every person in the game receives one Galaxy Dragon at level 1. This dragon is one of five Galaxy Dragons. To obtain the other four dragons, you need to breed either your Galaxy Dragon or an Epic Dragon of your choosing with a friend's Galaxy Dragon. With luck you will end up with an egg of their Galaxy Dragon. You don't need to breed a twin to get their Galaxy Dragon, you can get a normal Galaxy Dragon. Galaxy Dragons can only breed in the co-op breeding cave.
The Co-op breeding cave works like the other two breeding cave in terms of breeding rules, the only exception being the Galaxy dragons that can only breed through the co-op cave. The co-op cave is a great addition to the game for players who only obtained one of a limited dragon. If they want more then they can put theirs up and ask a friend to do the same. Breeding two of the same dragon will always have a chance of breeding that dragon regardless if the dragon is available or not. Gemstone dragons can also be obtained through the co-op cave, but only when available and with their specific breeding combo. So if you wanted a Lapis Dragon but didn't have a Plasma Dragon, then you could put your Salamander Dragon up with a friend's Plasma and hope you get a Lapis. Because of this you can obtain twin gemstone dragons, very rare, but possible.
Question:
What are events?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Events happen throughout the year. They usually last about a month and give out dragons, habitats, eggs, and decorations as rewards. Which rewards will be given out depend on the event, usually it's all new dragons and decorations. All players can participate in events. To earn points in the events you gather up the event material and turn it in. The materials can be obtained from doing your usual park deeds, such as collecting gold, making dragon treats, racing, entering the coliseum, and visiting friends. You can earn additional materials by finding the hidden person walking around in your park. They look different from all your other people and is usually event related.
At the end of the event any additional points are converted into dragon treats and sent to your gift box.
Question:
What events have already happened?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Here's the list of past Dragonvale events and their rewards:
Light and Dark Magic Event: players needed to collect magic and donate it either to the light or dark side of the Tines of the Scar. Upon completion of the light side of the Tines of the Scar, the light dragons were brought into the game. Players received a Light Rift Dragon as well as a light reward habitat based on how well they performed in the event. A few days later the dark side of the Tines of the Scar was completed and the dark dragons made their dramatic appearance along with the Dark Rift dragon and the dark reward habitat. The Rift Monument was given out to all players who participated in this event as a final reward. This event lasted from October 9, 2013 to November 5, 2013.
Magic Egg Hunt Event: in this event the materials to be collected were magic eggs. These were turned in at The Vernal Glass to receive prizes, which included decorations, two Ovalith Dragons, a gemstone habitat, and a grand prize of an island. This event lasted from April 10, 2014 to April 28, 2014.
Firefly Festival Event: players needed to collect fireflies in this event to be turned in to the wizard at the Gloaming Gate. The prizes for this event were the Dawnbreak Edifice, Dawn Dragon and pedestal, Duskfall Edifice, Dusk Dragon and pedestal, Celestial Habitat, and the Twilight Tower. The Twilight Tower allows players to change the time of day in their game. This time change also affects the breeding of the Sun and Moon dragons that can only be bred in the day and at night, respectively. This event lasted from July 10, 2014 to August 4,2014.
Whitbee's Candy Bash: here players collected candy to be traded in at Whitbee's Castle for prizes. These included Whitbee's Lantern, the Nosferatu Dragon and pedestal, and the Spooky island theme. Note that players could have earned up to twelve spooky island themes if they turned in enough candies. This event lasted from October 9, 2014 to November 4, 2014.
Season of Goodies Event: players needed to collect iceberries in this event ant turn them in at the Crystal Castle for prizes. These prizes were the Crystalline Snowflake, Snowflake 1 Dragon and pedestal, Snowflake 2 Dragon and pedestal, Snowflake Habitat, Wonderland Island Theme, Goody's Treatery, and the Dragonsai Bush. Note that players could also earn up to twelve Wonderland island themes if they collected enough iceberries. This event lasted from December 18, 2014 to January 12, 2015.
The Gathering of Roses Event: roses were the material to collect in this event and were turned in at the Rosefall Tree. The prizes for this event included the Berrywhite Bench, the Thorn Dragon and pedestal, a decorative path called the Path of Petals, and the Omnitat (a habitat that can hold any four dragons in the game excluding the gemstone dragons). This event lasted from February 5, 2015 to February 23, 2015.
Epic Egg Hunt: in this event players needed to collect epic eggs and trade them in at the Burcadian Monolith. The prizes for this event were Monolith 1 Dragon and pedestal, Monolith 2 and pedestal, a decorative path called the Path of Nature, Monolith Habitat, and the Relic of the Epics. This event lasted from March 12, 2015 to April 7, 2015.
Star Fall Event: players only had a day's break from the last event before this event started. Here players had to collect star dust and turn it in at the Astral Spire for prizes. The prizes for this event were the Star Fall Monument, Meridiem Habitat, Midnight Dragon and pedestal, a decorative path called the Walk of Stars, and the Weather Station. This event lasted from April 9, 2015 to May 5, 2015.
Question:
Why does my friend have level 15 epic dragons?
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Your friend participated in the Epic Egg Hunt Event and earned the Relic of the Epics which allows epic dragons in their park to be upgraded to level 15.
Question:
Can we become Game Center friends? (This is a personal FAQ for myself.)
Answer:
UPDATED 5/21/15
Totally forgot this was here and outdated with information on those dreaded friend codes.
Go ahead and shoot me a friend request on Game Center, I'm trying to keep it below 500 to accept those who want to be added. If you stop playing Dragonvale for a month or more then I apologize but you will be removed from my list to make room for active players.
Please please please do NOT send me gems! I can't stress that enough, I don't need the gems at all! Please send them to players who need it or join one of the gem circles here on the forum. I will not give gems back to those who send them to me, it lags my game terribly.
I hope those who visit my park enjoy their stay :) I have every dragon and egg in the game plus I enjoy decorating my park for those who peek at it. I hope to do another full park picture once I acquire all the twin dragons (or at least the eggs).

Keep checking back for more FAQ!!
And please tell me if I missed something or made a mistake!! Thanks!!
